As a small child, Gary Barnes would visit Sweeny’s Outfitters with his mother each week. He was always captivated by the assortment of western wear and accessories they had available. It was at that time that Gary made it his childhood ambition to purchase Sweeny’s Outfitters. In 1981, he finally did.

From 1981 to 2000, Sweeny’s Outfitters operated as a brick and mortar store. Suddenly, Gary had the bold vision of taking Sweeny’s Outfitters on the road. By doing so, he was able to bring together an assortment of independent businesses looking to sell their goods at western stores across America.

Now you can find Sweeny’s Outfitters in many places such as Wichita, KS; Louisville, KY; Franklin, IL; as well as all over Michigan and Ohio. You can find Sweeny’s Outfitters at music festivals, rodeos and other local events and where Gary gets to meet folks from all walks of life.

Sweeny’s Outfitters has always been about good customer service, making long term friends and building relationships that have lasted generations. He’s proud that he not only serves the children of long term customers, but their grandkids as well.

Sweeny’s Outfitters sells quality and unique country and western items and products. They not only carry mainstay brands that most western stores do, but are proud to carry many independent western wear and accessory brands.
