We here at Diamond O feel it is our duty to stand up and help the members of our community get back on their feet. This community of ours have given us so much support to be successful, and it would be against our values to turn our back in a time of need. This is why we are directing any and all donations or clean up support to those who would also care to help this awesome community out directly.
Below is the official response by the leadership of Valley View:
Cooke County Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster Response to Tornado
Cooke County Disaster Active Volunteer Organizations have reactivated in response to the recent tornado in Cooke County. The purpose is to help the community navigate through established tools and resources, such as federal, state, and local funds, as well as provide the local support and services that have been accumulated.
The Cooke County VOAD has made the decision to set up office space in Valley View at the Community Center starting Tuesday, May 28, where community members who have been affected by the tornado/storm can seek assistance. Those affected and needing assistance can receive practical volunteer support with technology and forms here. VOAD has made arrangements for volunteers to help with services such as answering phones, helping community members complete online applications for available resources, cleaning up debris, and helping fix and repair damage at the cost of supplies.
Any voluntary organization that wishes to participate in donating money, goods and services is encouraged. Anyone in trade services or have access to tractors, excavators, chainsaws, trailers and willing to help (parts, supplies, time, etc. ) you can also volunteer.
